I've had a cold all week. What started as a mildly sore throat quickly turned into congestion, runny nose, sneezing, headache, lack of energy. Nothing very serious. Just very inconvenient. Just for fun I put these symptoms into the Symptom Checker on WebMD. Apparently I might have Aseptic Meningitis, Type 2 Diabetes, Fibromyalgia, Heat Exhaustion, Multiple Sclerosis, or even an acute stress reaction. Or maybe it's just the common cold. That's the one I'm going with, but thanks, WebMD. As my friend Alicia describes this site: you could be researching what to do for a hang nail and come away from it convinced that you have some rare form of cancer.Last night I recognized a trend with this cold: I always feel the best in the morning, then progressively get worse through out the day. By four or five pm I'm completely drained, and the idea alone of standing in the kitchen long enough to make dinner makes me feel like taking a nap. So this morning I decided to take advantage of my energy and I put dinner together in the slow cooker. Now I just need to throw some chicken breasts in at lunchtime, turn it on, and my family will finally have a home-cooked meal this week. And no, I'm not counting the quesadilla that Scot microwaved for himself last night as a home-cooked meal.

Thanks for the shout-out. I also love how webMD always seems to assume that you would never get anything checked out....like well if you leave it untreated, you could DIE! Yeah, we figured that out webMD but thanks.
I too have been struggling with that cold for over a week now. It's really irritating! Good ol' Web MD! Good luck getting over it soon!
