Carnies Can't Keep Us Down

To save the day from the carnies' injustice and save face with Becca's mom, we headed to Zilker park to play on the playground and ride the Zilker Zephyr (a 25 minute train ride [for about $2]). As always, Riley loved the swings and the slides. Riley liked the train, even though I don't think that she really got that we were on the train. Everytime we went around a bend and she saw the engine, she would exclaim, "a train!"

BTW, Becca got her hair trimmed and colored on Thursday. The day before, she told me that she was cutting it short again (I'm fine with it now) and coloring it lighter. When I got home, I was a little confused because it was just as long and darker. I've decided as long as she is happy with her hair, I'm happy with it. I mean, my reason for long hair before was that it was better to run my fingers through it, but really, how often does that happen? ;)

Afterwards, we headed to Flip Happy for some savory and sweet crepes. I had a Cuban (pork, cheddar, pickle, tobasco). Becca had the roasted chicken with goat cheese and garlic aoili and the lemon curd with blueberry sauce. Eilene had the chicken, gruyere, mushrooms, and carmalized onions and the whipped peanut butter with chocolate sauce and chantilly cream. For the first time, I got Bev's Brownie Crepe, a fudgy brownie inside of a chocolate crepe with chocolate sauce and chantilly cream. WOW.
