Two benefits of ignoring the “night” part of “date night” and going to a movie in the afternoon and then dinner are getting into the movie you want to see at the time you want to see it, and not having to wait for a table when you get to the restaurant. But the best benefit of an afternoon date is that you can feel comfortable hiring a 12-year-old boy to baby-sit your kids.
Two benefits of hiring a 12-year-old boy to baby-sit your kids are that your husband can pick him up, allowing you an extra 10 or so minutes to get ready for your date, and your still-clingy toddler has no problems with a boy babysitter. But the best benefit of a 12-year-old boy babysitter are the stories your little girl tells you when you get home about the games they played. “I was the princess and he was the pilot and he had to save me. But the bad guys got him and put him in jail. And he told Bernie (the dog) that he needed to be a hero.” She had SO MUCH fun! And I’m confident that only a 12-year-old boy would have come up with all that.

My boys love it when they get a boy babysitter. There is something cool about army men, extreme spoons and car races.
Yeah, Cory babysat a lot when he was younger. I only remember Shane Erikson babysitting a time or two. It sounds like you had a nice date. Happy 7th anniversary!
