At the last minute we decided to spend Labor Day weekend with Scot's parents in Albuquerque. We weren't there long, and with the help of their cousins, the kids had no trouble finding fun things to fill their time.
We played at the Vraines' pool one afternoon and spent a lot of time in Grandmommy and Granddaddy's backyard. In hindsight, maybe the tree climbing wasn't the smartest idea, since we're currently uninsured. Fortunately we didn't need to put Grandmommy's nursing skills to use.
When Riley asked Granddaddy for something that she could "cut and tape" he really exceeded her expectations by pulling this old jumpsuit of Grandmommy's down from the attic, along with a roll of duct tape.
She was like a starving fashion designer, putting every piece of chopped-up fabric to use.
The top was only altered a little from it's original form, but I was impressed with Riley's spacial skills when she set out to make pants from flat pieces of fabric. Granddaddy was a helpful assistant with the tape, but Riley did all the conceptual work on her own.
After all that hard work of designing, creating, and modeling, Riley put her hood on and took a little down time to watch tv.
Thanks to the Wayes for putting up with us. We had a great time!
