T-Ball Slugger

When we gave Asher a list of possible sports to play this summer, his reaction was completely different from Riley's. Instead of insisting on one as soon as it was mentioned, he'd stop us after each option was named and ask what it was. We would do a google image search and find a picture of kids doing each sport. After seeing all the possibilities, he confidently chose t-ball.

Asher has never been a fast kid or very competitive, so Scot and I didn't go into the season with high expectations. But he has surprised us. In spite of being the shortest kid on his team of 4- and 5-year-olds, he in one of the better throwers (is that even a word?). He's really interested in learning how to play the game, and is better at following directions from the coach than most of the kids.

Scot volunteered to help coach Asher's team, and ended up being the head (and only) coach. I'm not sure if he knew what he was getting into, especially with 10 kids that young. But he's done a great job, and the kids really seem to like him. In fact, there is an enthusiastic little girl named Emma that seems to have a dad-crush on him, just like Riley does for her track coach.
