The plan was for Scot's parents to join us for a long weekend, beginning July 4th. But his sister's plan to visit them in Albuquerque the following week was moved up, so we flip-flopped the plan at the last minute and drove down to Albuquerque instead. The kids had a great time with their cousins, some of whom they haven't seen in years.
One benefit to this adjustment was the fireworks. Because of fire restrictions, our town had cancelled their fireworks show. But Albuquerque went ahead with theirs, so we were able to enjoy them there.
