Initially, Riley was not eager to head back to school. She had lost her enthusiasm for school by the time kindergarten was over, and she wasn't interested in another year of it. Fortunately her first grade teacher made a very positive impression on her when we went in for the reading and math assessments just before school began.
It also helped that she was really excited to wear her new dress for the first time. Whatever it takes, right?
She came home that first day full of smiles and stories and new friends.
