The Adoption is Final!
Today, Riley officially (legally) joined our family. Last night, we drove over to Houston and found a great texas BBQ restaurant and stayed the night at a hotel. This morning, we had to be in the court by 8:30 and by about 9:00, the court had finalized the adoption. The judges love this day (you can imagine that other days in family court aren't as happy). The judge let Riley choose a stuffed animal to take home (of three options, she chose the gray puppy in the bottom right photo). The whole experience was a good one and only took about 5 minutes in front of the judge with our lawyer. It's been a long and sometimes stressful journey, but now it's official! .jpg)
