On our way down to the coast for a little vacation, we stopped at the San Jose Mission in San Antonio. I think there are four or five missions that basically served to teach the natives how to be Europeans. If you have visited the Alamo, one of the other San Antonio missions, you may have said, "I thought everything was bigger in Texas! This is pretty small" and you would be correct. The Alamo gets all the glory because of the history. Although there weren't any great last stands at San Jose, it was twice as large and has been fully restored (thanks to the WPA in the 30's due to the depression). So it was pretty nice to see how life was.
