Port Aransas: Day 4

After packing up, we headed to the USS Lexington to tour it and burn some time before my parent's flight (they flew in and out of Corpus Christi). The WWII aircraft carrier is located right next to the Texas aquarium in Corpus Christi bay. It was commissioned in 1943 and decommissioned in 1991. It set all sorts of records for miles sailed, stuff destroyed, etc.

.
It was a pretty windy day
.
.
The flight deck was pretty cool. They had planes from different eras. You could also go to the sides and fire the guns! (jk, but you could raise and lower them).
.

.
I think that Riley is a little young to captain the ship, but here I am at the helm, following orders - full speed ahead!

Looks like you had fun! Would you recommend it as a must do while in Texas?
