Riley was a Zebra for halloween. We went with some friends to trick-or-treat in their neighborhood.
I like seeing all the kids dressed up in costumes and enjoy seeing them have fun, but I've never really liked Halloween. I just don't see the point of the commercialism of candy distribution. Maybe I'm a party pooper, but we try to not be at home during the trick-or-treat hours. I agree with these two blog posts, one from Stuff White People Like #113: Halloween, and one from Light Refreshments Served, how teenagers shouldn't be trick-or-treating. I heard that some of our friends just bought candy for their kids and watched movies - sounds good to me. One year, before we had Riley, Becca and I turned out all the lights, sequestered ourselves in the back-most room, and watched tv. Our church has a trunk-or-treat, and I'm fine with that, so it's not that we are too cheap to buy candy. Maybe I just don't like answering the door or hearing Bernie bark over and over anytime there is a knock or door bell ring. Which brings me to my last point. If you are a parent - teach your kids the trick-or-treating rules. If there isn't a light on or halloween decorations, move on to the next house.
Riley was sure cute in her zebra costume and even cuter when she says zebra. By the end of the night she even figured out how to say her own version of trick-or-treat.

She's an adorable zebra. But the poor little sad monkey...Also, I request a video clip of her saying zebra please!
Payton was a zebra too! That is so funny! I love this one though. I have never seen a costume for zebras like that. Love it!
