We have safely arrived in Fort Collins. We got here just in time for their record breaking low of -16 degrees (Fahrenheit). At least Austin is having a 39/35 degree day. Austin will be 78 on Saturday though. The first few hours from Albuquerque were a little scary with speeds on the freeway about 40 mph. I slipped and drifted on ice about 3 or 4 times and at some points we were driving on a thin layer of snow. It cleared up as we got further north and was great the rest of the way.
Today we close on our house, talk to our caseworker here in Colorado regarding adoption paperwork, and meet our new bishop. Internet should be set up at our house soon (we are just in a hotel right now), and we will try to get some pictures up. As my undergraduate advisor used to say, "I'm busier than a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest".

I should have bought Riley some fleece wear for Christmas! Y'all must be freezing after Texas.
Glad you made it there okay! We're freezing here in Austin too, so don't feel too bad.
We're happy to see you've made it safely. I hope the gas is on in your house! Good luck with all you've got going on today and the rest of the week. Welcome to Colorado!
I'm glad you guys made it safe and sound. Sorry you had to arrive on the day of a record-breaking low!
I actually do have something warm for Ms. Riley! Send us your new address! It will be a busy holiday for you guys. But glad that you arrived safe and sound! Paul and I took a harrowing trip across the country once on our way back to UT, and it was scary and something I'd never wish on anyone. Hope Riley likes snow :)
Congrats on almost being done with the whole moving and selling and buying thing. I hope it's not always that cold there for you! Freezing!
Let me tell you about my 16 hour drive home yesterday! Not fun weather right now! except I guess only like 12- 13 hours were actual driving, the other 3-4 was waiting for a wreck clean up and sleeping in the car! i'm excited you guys are so much closer!
Um yeah...on second thought please don't bother looking for bank jobs in Colorado. I'll take the 60 degree weather in December.
;-)
Hope you have fun in your new area, and GO UTES!!!
Welcome to ridiculously freezing cold Colorado! That's so exciting that you moved here. Other than all the poopy snow, I think you'll really like it here.
I love that last turn of phrase! I'm glad you made it safe, sorry I am so late on commenting!
