No visit to San Antonio is complete without a trip to the Alamo. Or that's the theory we went with, anyway. Asher and Riley were mildly interested in the uniforms and some of the weapons that were on display, but they were much more entertained by the squirrels living in the old oak trees. Needless to say, we didn't stay long.
We did, however, stay quite a while at the San Antonio Zoo. Scot and I weren't super impressed with their selection of animals. Most notably, no giraffes, and very few species of primates. Except the young human primate you see below, swinging across a rope. Yes, that's Riley.
They did, however, have a great area for toddlers, with a sand pit, a small stream for wading in, an indoor area with an arts and crafts table and some animal-themed toys, and some very toddler-friendly exhibits.
Riley was a little nervous about this small bird crawling on her, but when she saw me hold it she insisted on trying. Yeah, she's a little competitive.
Again, Riley and Asher had fun brushing the animals in the petting zoo, but Tyson wanted nothing to do with them.
